Every country, including Italy, has different waiting times for a permit because many factors have an influence on this and, apart from the complexity of the transport, the availability of personnel as well as public holidays and holiday periods.
POSSIBILITIES OF EXTENSION
In Italy, a single-trip permit is valid for 90 days and multi-trip permits are valid for 180 days.
After the expiry date, the individual permit can be extended for a further 3 months and the multi-trip permit for a further 6 months if the trip has not taken place by then.
